Strategies to get the perfect Ocracoke vacation property experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Ocracoke vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the Ocracoke area, The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Ocracoke area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Ocracoke area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose your vacation week and budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Art-Sea: Architectural beauty, private boat dock has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Ocracoke vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • If there's a specific Ocracoke beach you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Call the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
