Rental property booking tips and tricks:
When to visit & When to reserve a Ocracoke rental home:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Book your rental property in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Ocracoke area travel guide magazines that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
