Ok, (not really).... when we were looking to buy, this place was listed for $110,000,000 (which was a typo) and the place was a DUMP!!! While under construction, we referred to it as the "million dollar double wide" and the name stuck, just didn't seem right to call it anything else. The home has been COMPLETELY refreshed from top to bottom. New Bathrooms, New bedrooms, New Kitchen, New exterior....... List goes on and on. We really feel like we have spent a million bucks on it. Located in the heart of the village, Its a short walk or bicycle ride to all the eateries and stores. Bicycle rental is across the street, coffee shop is 3 blocks away. Golf cart units are available in numerous locations on the island. There is a humongous covered porch with a walkway to it. Out back we have an outdoor shower with a walkway to the porch.
The home has a master bedroom, with a queen size bed, and master bathroom with a shower.
Bedroom number 2, has a FULL(double) size bunk bed set. Sleeps 4 comfortably.

How to get the best Ocracoke vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- Summer months are high season in the Ocracoke area. To book the most suitable rental home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Ocracoke attractions.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Ocracoke visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Make a plan and pick the right Ocracoke rental home:
- Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. MILLION DOLLAR DOUBLE WIDE!!! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If not, reach out to the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation.
- If there's a certain Ocracoke destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
More considerations:
- Add the host's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- During arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many issues.
- Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
